Located in the center of Miyazaki prefecture, the town of Aya boasts one of the largest laurel forests in Japan as well as a rich culture of organic farming. The local people here have been building a community in harmony with nature for nearly half a century, ahead of other areas in Japan. These efforts have been appreciated and even earned the town recognition as a UNESCO eco park in July 2012.
Aya Town is located 20 km from Miyazaki Airport in Miyazaki City.
